1976-1985
MacArthur Associated Consultants was founded in Oklahoma City by Robert J. “Bob” MacArthur, PE. The firm’s early work centered on military and aviation projects. Bob’s service in the U.S. Air Force and Oklahoma Air National Guard helped shape MAC’s longstanding emphasis on trust, integrity, excellence, and customer service.
This decade established the foundation for the relationships, technical expertise, and reputation that would support MAC’s future growth.
1996-2005
MAC continued expanding during the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2001, Sam and Keith took ownership of the firm, becoming part of a generation of employees who would help guide the firm into its next chapter.
By the early 2000s, the company had grown to approximately 18 employees and was becoming involved in increasingly significant infrastructure work. Even as the scale of the company and its projects increased, MAC maintained the close-knit culture that had developed over its first two decades.
2016-2025
MAC continued expanding its team, services, and reach, growing into a full-service civil engineering and surveying firm with more than 45 professionals and offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. More recently, John, Russell, Jen Teck, and David joined the ownership team, continuing that transition and helping shape MAC’s future.
In 2025, MAC moved into a new office and refreshed its brand, honoring its history while reflecting the firm it is today.
50 YEARS OF MACARTHUR
1986-1995
In 1986, MAC moved into its Jamestown office, which would serve as the firm’s home for nearly three decades.
Throughout these years, MAC continued building its reputation in civil engineering, military, and aviation work while developing the relationships and expertise that would support its future growth. As the team grew, company traditions, celebrations, and camaraderie remained an important part of life at MAC.
2006-2015
During this decade, MAC continued its evolution into a broader civil engineering and surveying firm, expanding its capabilities across transportation, aviation, military, surveying, infrastructure, and design-build work.
The Jamestown office remained home to MAC through 2015, witnessing decades of professional growth as well as memorable company traditions such as our love of dressing up for Halloween!
2026
In 2026, MAC celebrated 50 years of engineering, surveying, service, relationships, and community impact.
What began with Bob MacArthur’s vision in 1976 has grown into a multidisciplinary firm with nearly 50 employees. While MAC’s offices, technology, services, and team have changed over five decades, the foundation remains familiar.
MAC’s history is also the story of the people who have called the firm home. Today, the MAC team continues Bob’s original vision while looking toward the next 50 years.
