MAC is proud to support the design and maintenance of the military facilities where our service members and their families train, work, live, and play. We are committed to using our engineering expertise to, support their mission, promote sustainability and improve their quality of life. The MAC team has worked on projects at over 50 military installations and facilities across Oklahoma and the Southwest region, including Tinker AFB, Vance AFB, Sheppard AFB, Altus AFB, Fort Sill, and Oklahoma National Guard Facilities. MAC has a developed reputation for facilitating project delivery in accordance with schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives through the deployment of the right team. We customize our solutions to meet each client’s specific needs at all phases of the project. We are very familiar with a wide range of federal and military requirements and programs such as ATFP, UFC’s, ETL’s, AFI’s, SpecsIntact UFGS Specifications, PCASE, RMS Means, and more . In addition, we are acutely familiar with LEED requirements and have certified LEED professionals in our office. 

  • Armed Forces Reserve Center- Design Build (Norman, Oklahoma)

    MAC was selected to provide civil site design for the 234,420 sq ft facility that includes offices, kitchen, assembly hall, weapons simulator room, and field maintenance shop. The civil site components included site layout, grading, storm water, and utility planning and design. This project achieved LEED Gold Certification by the USGBC and met the Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection standards.

  • Replace Fire Water Main at B2121, B2122 & B2136- Design Build (Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma)

    MAC was project manager and designer of record for the project which included the replacement of the existing water main loop around three hangars with over 4,500 LF of new 12” ductile iron water main and over 1,210 LF of new 8” water line which was installed inside B2121 and B2122. The external line was installed using a combination of trenching and boring and included 11 building connections. Project included replacement of both Airfield and non-airfield pavement and preparation of UFGS specification 32 13 11, Concrete Pavement for Airfields and Other Heavy-Duty Pavements.

  • 4-Mile Low Water Crossing (Fort Sill, Oklahoma)

    MAC was the designer-of-record on the design-build team led by Diversified Construction for the 4-mile low water crossing over Medicine Creek at Fort Sill Army Base in Comanche County, Oklahoma. In May 2015, the bridge was deemed unsafe because it sat two feet above the creek. The new crossing provides a safe route over the creek that can remain open during storms, guaranteeing Fort Sill training exercises are not impacted.

    The project consisted of removal and replacement of the existing low-water crossing and culverts with a five cell 14’x20’ reinforced concrete box structure with wingwalls, headwalls and aprons supporting a 30-foot clear span driving surface. The upstream incorporated a wire structure with orifices at an equal size and elevation to the existing corrugated metal pipes to ensure the upstream wetlands were maintained. Design also included new concrete roadway to tie crossing to the existing road.

  • KC-46A Depot Maintenance Hangar, Fuel Maintenance Hangar, & Airfield Pavement- Design Build (Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma)

    MAC served as the civil designer of record for the hangars, which are part of a new campus of facilities that will support the KC-46A Pegasus aircraft. The project includes the 121,155 sq ft single-bay aircraft depot maintenance hangar and the 80,000 sq ft two-bay aircraft fuel maintenance hangar. The new campus is projected to provide full maintenance production for 90 aircrafts per year and provide a new home for approximately 300 full-time employees supporting the KC-46A program.

    The project includes over 37,000 SY of new heavy-duty airfield pavement, designed and constructed in accordance with UFC 3-260-02 for a 25-year design life. The 18.5” P.C. concrete pavement section was designed using PCASE software for use with multiple aircrafts including the B1200 (U30) Aircraft Tug, the KC-135R, C-5A/B Galaxy, C-17A and KC-46A.

  • Camp Gruber Base-Wide Sanitary Sewer Improvements (Braggs, Oklahoma)

    The Oklahoma Military Department selected MAC to provide professional engineering and surveying services for Camp Gruber. The MAC team analyzed the existing system used for the 87 square-mile facility with respect to condition, performance, and capacity. The study was based on existing conditions and proposed future expansion to take place over the next 40 years. After completing the comprehensive study, MAC developed construction drawings and specifications that were used to bid a phased construction project.

    The project included replacement of most of the existing pipe network and upgrades to the lagoon system. MAC was also responsible for coordinating and obtaining all necessary OKDEQ permitting and extensive discussion with the Oklahoma Military Department’s Environmental Management Branch.
