Senior Roadway Project Manager - PE (OKC, OK)

LOCATION: Oklahoma City, OK

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Roadway Project Manager to join our Transportation team in Oklahoma City. This position will lead roadway and transportation infrastructure projects throughout Oklahoma, overseeing projects from planning and design through construction. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive roadway design and project management experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and public agencies to deliver high-quality, cost-effective transportation solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and lead roadway and transportation design projects from planning through construction.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including ODOT, OTA, municipalities, counties, and federal agencies.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior engineers and project teams.

  • Prepare and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

  • Oversee the development of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with ODOT, OTA, and AASHTO standards.

  • Coordinate with internal disciplines, including survey, bridge, hydraulics, and construction administration, as well as external subconsultants.

  • Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project standards.

  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and participate in client interviews and presentations.

  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (Master's degree preferred).

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Oklahoma or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive roadway design and project management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing ODOT, OTA, or similar public-sector transportation projects.

  • Experience designing roadway interchanges is a plus.

  • Proficiency with:

    • MicroStation

    • OpenRoads Designer (ORD)

  • Other roadway design software

    Strong understanding of:

    • ODOT and OTA standards

    • AASHTO guidelines

    • Federal and state transportation funding processes

    • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Established client relationships within Oklahoma's transportation industry.

  • Experience with federally funded transportation projects and NEPA processes.

  • Familiarity with local agency permitting and utility coordination.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage complex infrastructure projects.
